how can I schedule services with barks and recreation?

How far in advance do i need to schedule?

In general, a two week notice is preferred, but we always strive to be flexible.

Will i meet my walker/sitter before services begin?

Yes! At Barks and Rec., we offer a complimentary Meet & Greet to make sure we get all questions covered. With COVID, our walkers are always masked upon entering. In person Meet and Greets give us a chance to properly meet your pup and gather basic information such as access instructions, behaviors you’d like us to address, leash and water bowl location, etc.

how will my walkers have access to my home?

We work with a variety of access methods, such as spare keys, lockboxes and Schlage Keypads.
We’re also familiar with intercom and alarm systems.

will my dog walker arrive at the same time every day?

While we strive to make this happen, we typically allow ourselves a 1-2 hour service window to account for traffic and other unforeseen circumstances. However, we will take note of specific requests and generally arrive as close as possible to that time.

what types of pets do you work with?

We have experience working with dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, sizes, and temperaments. This includes administering shots (dogs only), tinctures, and topical creams.

Further, we work with rescue pets, puppies, anxious pups, animal-reactive dogs, leash pullers, and high energy pups.

How is payment handled?

Weekly or bi-weekly payments are handled after completion of service. We accept Cash, Check, Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal. Depending on client’s preferred payment method, clients will receive invoices and/or payment requests from either Venmo or PayPal detailing the dates that services were completed.

can i cancel or book services last minute?

Of course! However, last minute schedule changes (within 24 hours) may be subject to additional fees.

will my dog walkers take my dog off leash?

No. For the dogs’ safety, we do not walk un-leashed dogs. If the dog’s leash happens to break, our dog walkers are equipped with a backup leash of their own.

are you insured?

Yes.

i live outside the service area,can i still request your service?

Yes! However, additional fees may apply.
